The 2025 Southern Georgia Black Chambers Black History Month Parade will be held on Saturday, February 22 at 12:00 pm. Line up begins at 10:30 am.

The parade begins from Pinevale Elementary School onto Old Lake Park Road. The lineup will begin within the school visitor's parking lot.

Parade Marshals will direct you to your line up position. Parade Marshals will be on-site to assist you. Please line up at your designated position.

The parade will travel north on Old Lake Park Road, turn left on E. Martin Luther King Jr Drive, and disband as Martin Luther King Jr Drive travels underneath the Overpass and interects with S. Patterson Street.

 

Please follow directions of police and parade marshals to help make disbanding as quick and easy as possible.

• Final authority in all matters rests with the Southern Georgia Black Chambers.

• Any parade participant under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

• Children will not be permitted to ride/drive miniature battery operated vehicles under any circumstances.

• If music is played from your float or vehicle, it must be clean and non-offensive, or you will be asked to exit the parade. 

• Each single-entry unit must not exceed 60’. Maximum height for clearance is 11’. All floats must have a safe trailer hitch. Golf carts, gators, and non-motorized entries like wagons and strollers are permitted.

• All individual vehicles and floats must be presentable and decorated for the event.

• Use of animals in the Black History Month Parade is not permitted.

• All drivers operating any vehicles (including golf carts and gators) must be at least 18 years of age with a valid driver’s license.

• Vehicle entries with multiple units (such as motorcycles) must be limited to no more than 10 vehicles and travel the parade route 2 or 3 abreast.

• Parade participants are not allowed to ride atop the hood of a vehicle.

• Parade line up information including numbers will go out via email. Please note email is the primary way we reach out to ALL participants. Please make sure the email address on your application is a working email address that is checked regularly.
